About us
Skylands Center is a non-profit program licensed and funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services' Division of Developmental Disabilities to provide residential care and day services for adults with autism and related intellectual disabilities.
We serve 14 consumers in a weekday Day Habilitation Center in Hackettstown, N.J. and operate two residential group homes, one in Fredon Township, N.J. and the other in Randolph Township. All of our group home residents are also enrolled in the day program at the Day Habilitation Center and commute to Hackettstown on vans operated by Skylands staff.
Skylands' administrative offices are co-located with our Day Habilitation Center in Hackettstown.
Our consumers' home communities are in Sussex, Passaic, Warren, Morris, Essex, Hunterdon and Bergen Counties.
We have been serving consumers continuously since 1990 when our original facility, the Hackettstown Employment Center for Adults With Autism, was created by the New Jersey Center of Outreach and Services for the Autism Community (COSAC).
